Sorry about the bad audio quality(it was the best non-lagging one I could find)… it’s shame because Chen sang really well here. It’s the softer side of him that we haven’t heard :-) If the SM Orchestra performance showcased his superior technical abilities, then this cover here demonstrated his emotional competency as a ballad singer.
One thing to note: he stopped rather abruptly on some verses/words, but I think that’s because he hasn’t fully understood the lyrics yet, so he was being cautious and didn’t want add any freestyle vocal riffs/cadenzas. If you heard the Korean song that he covered in one of the other EXO-M interviews, you can tell that he was much more at ease. I’m really anticipating his future covers as he becomes more familiar with the language~ Only 6 months of language studying and he’s already at this impressive level, Chen fighting~!
